What is a removable industrial building?

A removable industrial building is a type of industrial building that can be installed quickly for permanent or temporary use and when you want or no longer need it, it can be quickly dismantled, leaving the space it used to occupy free.  VALL’s modular industrial buildings are adaptable. They can be easily and quickly enlarged or reduced in size if the company's needs change.

What types of prefabricated industrial buildings are there?

They can be classified in different ways. For example, depending on their uses and the characteristics that make them possible, they can be classified as removable agricultural buildings for farms, warehouses, distributors or agri-food industry, removable warehouses for logistics and storage, sales space, industrial building, office area and many others. They can also be classified according to the materials used in their structure. For example, we have removable industrial buildings made of aluminium or prefabricated industrial buildings made of steel. Another possible classification is by size. At VALL we build solutions for each company. They are rarely buildings of less than 1,000 and in some cases they can even exceed 9,000 square metres. Do I need a building permit to build a removable industrial building?

Setting up a removable industrial building does not require a permit like a building permit for the construction of a conventional or fixed building. However, there is no regularisation that standardises the conditions and therefore the obligations may be different in each municipality. If you already have land or facilities where you want to locate it, check with the local council. If you have not yet decided on a specific location, you can consult the options you are interested in to see if there are any differences. What is clear is that the permits are much quicker and are processed in less time. It is relatively common for the City Council to grant quick provisional assembly permits for removable solutions, which then become permanent if the intention is for the building to remain in operation on the site for an indefinite period of time. In addition, you always have the option of moving it to wherever you consider, which is why it is a removable building.

Safety and quality markings and signs for removable industrial buildings.

Just because a building is removable does not mean that it does not have to comply with strict safety regulations. It is important to know what to expect from a removable industrial building and what regulations it must comply with. The most important is the regulation that affects the structural material, the UNE EN 1090. Also the regulations governing the construction and commissioning of the building, which is the UNE EN 13782 standard. Is any type of prefabricated industrial building suitable for any type of use?

Depending on the use to which a removable industrial building is to be put, it may require different characteristics and conditions. And for this, it must have specific enclosures, roofs or accessories that allow or create the ideal conditions for that use.  For example, a removable agricultural building for grain storage requires maximum watertightness to prevent it from being attacked by pests. And strict temperature and humidity conditions to ensure safe grain storage.  A removable industrial building for logistics may require specific accessories to facilitate operation. For example, fewer columns and the installation of loading bays. And a sales space must be visually appealing to the customer and have specific lighting to highlight the products on display.

They can be used in a wide range of sectors, from logistics and transport to industrial manufacturing. As storage spaces for food and beverages, for the storage of vehicle fleets or for the exhibition of machines, tools and vehicles.
